Escanaba & Lake Superior railroad company  The E&LS main line is 196 miles running from Rockland, MI near Lake Superior to Green Bay, WI. In addition to the main line, E&LS provides rail freight service over:  the 6-mile Stiles Junction, WI to Oconto Falls, WI branch; switching service to both E&LS and Canadian National (CN) customers in Marinette, WI/Menominee, MI; and, service to a bulk transload site at Floodwood, MI on the Channing, MI to Republic, MI branch line.  Other lines connecting to the main and utilized primarily for the storage of private rail car fleets include Channing to Escanaba, MI, Sidnaw, MI to Nestoria, MI, and Crivitz, WI to Marinette.  These lines have capacity for storing over 5,000 rail cars.  The E&LS operates on trackage rights over CN  from North Escanaba, MI to Pembine, WI. Rail freight traffic on the E&LS is interchanged with CN at Green Bay, North Escanaba, Pembine, WI, and Marinette.

The E&LS is privileged to serve a multitude of paper, forest products, and other manufacturing companies in Michigan and Wisconsin. The commodities transported by the E&LS include: woodpulp, pulpwood logs, oriented strand board, flooring, lumber, cannedgoods, steel, scrap metal, cement, ore, chemicals, plus agricultural commoditiesincluding corn, soybeans, feed, and fertilizers.
