Car Repair and Paint Shop

The E&LS Railroad operates a modern, full-service railcar repair and paint facility in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Located in Escanaba and Wells, the E&LS has turned out thousands of  cars since 1991, including the conversion of boxcars from Plate B to Plate C and F. The specially designed blast, paint and stencil building is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for fast, efficient and environmentally safe production. Our M1003 certified Quality Assurance Program tracks both materials and procedures utilized so that all AAR, Federal, State and local requirements are met, including environmental regulations.
